Actaeon is a figure from Greek mythology, son of Aristeo and Autonoe, raised by the centaur Chiron, who taught him the art of hunting. According to legend, during a hunt, Actaeon provoked the wrath of Artemis, when the surprise while taking a bath together with her companions.
